Can you think of common statements that are sort of double-faced?

I’m thinking of something like, “maybe I didn’t make myself clear,” which actually means: “you must be some kind of idiot for not understanding what I just said, so I’ll say it again in words that a child could understand.”
Well, it could mean that. Except when it doesn’t. That’s the wonderful thing. You can insult people without actually insulting them, or say stuff without actually saying it. It’s sort of like the dialogue in Annie Hall, except darker.
