Can an express card/34 fit in an express card/54 slot?

Hi,
I’m purchasing an express card/34 for firewire ports but I am wondering if it will fit in my HP’s express card/54 slot. This slot I have, I know can fit a 54/slot but looks like it could also fit a CardBus PC Card. Will this still fit?
