If I de-friend someone on Facebook, will they have to confirm it?

So, I recently became friends on Facebook with a customer of my company’s in a different state. The only reason this came up was that I asked her if she had any pictures of her new store that I could see (I work for a furniture and decor manufacturer) and she said they were online, but on her Facebook page.

Now we’re friends and well, that’s not really what I want. She’s a very nice lady and we always have nice conversations, but I don’t really want to see updates about her kids and I really don’t want her to read my updates, see my photos, etc.

I know I’m not the only one with this concern. If you’ve been in this situation, what have you done to remedy it?
