How do you think facebook "verifies" a user's real name?

A couple days ago as a joke I changed my facebook name from my real name to Alice B. Toklais – they approved this change. When I tried to change it back to my real name it was declined and I was told not to try to change it for two weeks. I was unable to make sense of this. Can you?
