iPhone users, how do you feel about getting the mobile versions of the sites you visit?

I frequently get sent to the kids table when I browse sites in mobile Safari- Google, NYT, etc. While I do like the navigation better most of the time, I feel like I’m missing out on the Jobs promise of having the real Internet in my pocket. Thoughts? Is there a way to dial in the full page?
