Does my house have a ghost?

I live in the creakiest m-fing house right now. It was built in 2002, and it’s got a lot of reasons to creak including being located in a river floodplain and being near a major traffic artery. There’s a lot of evidence of shifting with drywall and seam cracks. It also has radiant floor heat and two stories.

But dammit if it doesn’t seem like things are going bump in the night. Every night and especially late at night. I’ve never seen anything move or doors open or shut, but damn.

So, how can I rule out a ghost and stop jumping at every other sound?
