In SAFE mode (Windows XP) is there a way to reduce the HUGE windows that appear on my monitor? Is there a way I can see ALL programs listed when I click "Programs"?

I realize it’s because the right drivers don’t install in SAFE mode. When I click on “PROGRAMS”, there are too many columns to appear on screen yet I need some of those progams I don’t see.
