Is there any reason to think that the government is a good problem solver?

The government has salesmen/politicians in charge. Lobbyists selling their products to these salesmen as ways for them to sell their products/selves and bureaucrats whose job is to work to the rules that are given to them by the politicians and other bureaucrats. I don’t see a problem solving class is government that has any power to do anything.
