Was that Jupiter-- low in the eastern night sky on Friday and Saturday?

This past weekend there was a very bright (for NYC standards) planet in the eastern night sky. It caught my attention on Friday because it was centered so perfectly over our patio. Then I noticed it again on Saturday, but higher and to the right.

I ask because Jupiter has been in the news so recently.

Also, is there a website that might regularly have information such as this?
