Can you miss days when stacking birth control?

I tried to ask this question from my ipod before but it didn’t seem so work so I apologize in advance if I end up posting this twice. So I’m on alesse 28 and I usually stack my pills. Yesterday I noticed I had missed a day but I’m not sure when it was. I remember the Doctor saying something about how if you stack pills you can miss a day and still be protected against pregnancy because you are technically allowed to miss the 7 days for your period. I’m not 100% sure if I remember this clearly and I’m getting worried. Could someone please clarify :)
