Knitters out there are you willing to share your tips and hints ?

I will use google , but i wondered if you wouldn’t mind with sharing some hints tips and must buys . Google wouldn’t give the best response and Google might lie , i would love proper people, people i could trust to lead me the right way .
Now i have never ever knitted before so am an absolute beginner , is there better needles i hope that’s what they are called that would be best to use what brand of wool would be a better wool to use. One that won’t wear out fast or anything , what would be the best thing to start with is there any sites you would recommend also .

I have wanted to knit for years but never had the will to start it , i am 27 and male not that makes any difference i just thought i would add it .
