Free, good quality DVD ripping software?

Asked by poofandmook (17320points) August 18th, 2009

I have a ton of DVDs my aunt made of family movies, and I don’t know what she did but they’re locked for copying. My ex found an excellent free DVD ripping program on the internet several years ago that we used to rip some movies that were unplayable in our player due to damage, but that ripped and copied just fine and looked as good as the original, but I have no idea what it was.

I’ve googled, and I’ve tried trial-and-error downloading, but it’s wreaking havoc on my anti-virus software, and I’d prefer not to waste my time if I don’t have to. So if anybody here knows where I can find free, downloadable software to rip DVDs, it’d be very appreciated.
