I'm going to Anchorage in a few months!!!! What should I do while I'm there?

Ok, so it’s not for sure yet. But there’s about a 90% chance that my mother and I will be going up there to visit U of A Anchorage, since I may be attending there next year.

But aside from visiting the college, I figure I should see some other things while I’m in Alaska. I mean, after all, it is ALASKA. And if I decide not to go to school there, who knows when I’ll be back up there.

So, if you’ve been there, or even if you haven’t, can you suggest some cool things to do? I don’t really like museums and I’d like to see mostly natural things like glaciers and maybe do some hiking.

Also, whats the likeliness of me seeing the northern lights if I’m there for a week?
