Why would someone's Facebook account be deleted?

I got an email from a friend last night saying that his Facebook account has been deleted. He has no idea why. He’s asked me to try to find out what happened. He’s a sweet guy & I can’t get a handle on why this happened. He was never abusive on there. Anyone have any ideas? Or how I could find out?
