In the late 60’s Kenny Rogers (then with the First Edition) had a hit with “Ruby (Don’t Take Your Love to Town)”. There was another song, sounded like Ruby’s answer. I heard it one night on the radio, but have never heard it since. It has the same melody, but the lyrics are Ruby’s reply that she has to go to town, to earn money to pay for Billy’s medical expenses. Have you ever heard this song?
