What should one wear to an interview?

My boyfriend has an important interview soon and the job is at a restaurant for an assistant manager position. He graduated recently (from college) and while I know how he should dress for a job in his field, I’m a little lost on whether he should be wearing a suit for this type of job interview.

Also does anyone have any advice for an interview at a restaurant? Thanks.
