Vancouver, CA: Any good low budget youth hostel or B&B??

I am going to Vancouver, Canada for a week to see a friend. Do you have any tips for a good place to stay? The flight takes the most of my cash, so I’m a bit strapped.

Also, what are the must-see’s in your opinion?
