Plugging a UPS-surge protector into a surge protection strip: good, bad, silly?

I’ve been using a high-end surge protector for my computer and peripherals, but due to occasional black/brownouts, I bought a UPS battery backup. Will plugging that into the older surge protector give me extra protection?
