What is your fool proof method for getting rid of hiccups?

Mine is not working, I need help. I get this often, and it becomes painful. I can usually get rid of them by drinking a glass of water upside down, or by holding my breath while swallowing, but right now nothing is working and it is becoming very uncomfortable.
