What are some good, short, present-tense books?

I’m trying to improve my present-tense writing skills. (FYI, currently reading “Fight Club” and have already read Neal Stephenson’s stuff).

I’d prefer non-fluff genres, and nothing too pretentious or experimental—but other than that, any subject matter is good.
