What is google-analytics.com and why is it slowing down my Fluther?

Lately I’ve notice that when I click on a link in Fluther, it takes longer before I can click on another. When it does this, the status bar says something to the effect of “Transferring data from google-analytics.com.” I tried the site, and I’ve deduced that this is something introduced by the Fluther gods and not uploaded to my computer by the Google gods. Am I off?
