Fluther etiquette question. Is it ok to challenge the moderators?

Usually I have no problem when a question is returned to me for editing but yesterday a question that I thought would be fine based on the main question and the blurb underneith. I was specific where needs be but I didn’t want to sway peoples answers by adding certain details. When it was returned to me I read the reasons why and I couldn’t see anything wrong with my questions based on the reasons it was returned to me so I sent a comment to the moderators expressing these concerns.

Have you ever challenged the moderators? Did you find it helpful? Basically I asked them to be more specific about the problem seeing as I couldn’t see one.
