Do you find this offensive?

Apparently the catholic church isn’t too thrilled about last Sunday’s episode of “Curb your Enthusiasm”, in which Larry starts taking a pill to increase his urine flow, which causes some unfortunate splash black on a painting of Jesus, which looked like a tear. He wasn’t making fun of Jesus, but rather making fun of the people who believe they see Jesus in everyday occurrences (in toast, in mold, etc).

As a fan of the show who has watched every episode, I know that Larry makes fun of everyone. It is why I watch the show. He is a Jew, as am I, and when he makes anti-semitic jokes regarding Hitler or the Holocaust, I am never offended. (There was once an entire episode which was about a Holocaust survivor and a Survivor from the show arguing about who had it worse).

I tend to believe that the people who are offended have never watched the show before, so they do not know that this is the nature of the show, and is not the first time that the Catholic Church has been poked fun of on the show (see episode: The Christ Nail)
