What is internet stalking? Have you felt like you are being stalked?

My kids are constantly calling each other stalkers or creepers, but I’m not sure what that means to them. I think it’s just a way to tease someone about being interested in something or someone. Then again, it’s also said when someone seems to be taking an inappropriate interest.

On fluther, people can follow you through your questions or comments. It’s not really stalking. It’s flattering. However, you often don’t know who is following you as you might when you have a blog or a twitter account. When you learn that someone had been following you— it is both a compliment and a bit disconcerting.

I don’t know where the line is between appropriate following of someone and inappropriate following. When does following turn into stalking? Can you tell a story about following someone or about being followed via your internet activity? Why did you do it? How did it make you feel?
