What are good Christmas presents for kids age 7-9?

Sorry, it’s probably annoying to have a Christmas question this early. But I’m starting my shopping this weekend.
I have a lot of little cousins around this age. I don’t want to accidentally get them little kid stuff, because I remember how much I wanted to be taken seriously at that age. I’m the oldest out of my generation of cousins, so I kind of want to be cooler than their parents about this without stepping on any toes. They all have game consoles, but I’m not sure what games they already have. I was thinking of getting something like Spore or Black and White, because I think those are okay for all ages.
