As an adult, do you continue to use the same brand products that your parents bought during your childhood?

I use a name brand antiperspirant. As a child, it only came in one flavor, but currently it’s listed as “original scent” to distinguish it from the 15 others like “ocean breeze”, “musk” or “beach patrol”...

Same thing with tooth paste and toilet paper. Yes the originals are still available but they are sometimes hard to find amidst the plethora of new sparkle jells and designer quilts.

Just give me the old stuff and I’m happy. I’ll sometimes mistakenly pick up one of the alternate varieties but never do I find it as comfortable as the original. Plus the shopping is laborious just trying to find the originals within the expanded brand… even more so amongst the competing brands.

Often I wish there was a store area called “Classic Brands” where a shopper could quickly find the old favorites and be on their way. Let the rest of the store hold the “New & Improved” and I’ll enter that area if and when the need arises.

I feel like shopping takes 10 times longer because traipsing through the variety is a complete drudgery these days.
