Can fluther give me some good party ideas?

Hello there!!! So my daughters First birthday is coming up and I’ve never really thrown a party of any kind this will be my first, and I’m really nervous about it because I have NO idea what to do or where to throw it I’m trying to do it some where in the West Los Angeles area. Some thing thats inexpensive and nice. I’m looking to spend no more than about 400 dollars on it. If you guys have any suggestions on venues, themes, or activities please jot them down here. I don’t want any mainstream character themes I think those are really played out.
