Can I overfilter my fish tank?

I just set up a 50g saltwater tank. I bought all of my stuff used from a friend and got 2 aquaclear 60 trickle filters and a fluval 4 submersible filter. They are all rated to be ale to handle a 60g tank and while I know you should always try and get something that can handle more than what you have, is it possible to filter to much? Will it hurt the growth of good bacterias and such?
