"Consciousness is an awareness of existence. I am aware that I exist. My question is "Where do I exist?"?

Who am I, and what makes me, me?
Where does consciousness reside?
Is consciousness a separate entity to the thought processes in my brain?

The last question is easy for me, the fact that I refer to my brain as a separate the same way I would refer to my heart
or any other organ in my body tells me that my conscious isn’t a part of me, consciousness is me, everything else is a tool I use to perceive and communicate with the physical world. As for why I need them to do this is another question.

Going back to the top of the list, ‘who am I, and what makes me, me?’ is the daughter of the mother of all questions,
I’m not entirely convinced I know who I am, if consciousness is me and it resides within the electrical impulses in my brain, when these impulses stop, do I die, and if consciousness resides in the magnetic field generated by the electrical impulses in my brain, and the electrical impulses stop, do I also cease to exist?

I’d like to think that as I said before, that all the human solid parts of me are just tools for interacting with and receiving messages and information from the physical universe, and that consciousness (me) is an electromagnetic field that interacts with the electromagnetic field generated by the electrical impulses in my brain, which in turn are triggered by the solid parts of me which interact with the physical world. I like to believe that the human body is just a big organic transducer decoding physical information and transforming or transducing it from a physical form to an electrical form so that I can interpret it from which ever frequency I exist.

So where does consciousness reside? Science has tried to answer this question to no avail. But what they did find, was that when they mapped the brain to find out what functions of the body are controlled by what parts of the brain, that consciousness couldn’t be found anywhere, they also couldn’t figure out what actually causes neurons in the brain to fire, apparently for some reason there isn’t enough electrical energy produced in the signals from around the body to cause them to fire, but they titre on the edge of firing seemingly waiting for that extra push to set them off. There is also this electromagnetic field surrounding the brain to take into consideration. Is this field just a bi-product of the electrical activity in the brain, or does it have an effect on the outcome of the firing sequences of neurons in the brain.

I personally believe that consciousness (me) interacts with this field which in turn causes the neurons to fire and controls the physical body. Therefore consciousness is a separate entity.

Ps. the mother of all questions being, if I am a soul, and there is an afterlife, what the fuck am I doing here in the first place!
