Is it just me, or is the MyTouch phone dialer function really cumbersome?

For MyTouch users: anyone else notice this? There is always like a 1–2 second delay in between touching a button on the dialer and the actual action, so I end up spending about 20–30 seconds just trying to make a call. Didn’t have this issue with a standard non-smart flip phone.
