Broken tail light. Need repair but don't want to get ripped off. Can I do myself?

I have a broken tail light on my car. Is this something that is easy enough for a individual to fix themselves without taking to a car dealership/repair shop? I always find these places charge through the nose for relatively simple fixes. Is this something that is easy enough to fix myself or should I just pay more and have a “professional” do it? thx!
