Stainproofing a trenchcoat

I just bought an ivory-colored trenchcoat… not very practical because it’ll get dirty but I still like it. Any tips on how to stainproof it? A coating of some sort? I’m not looking for bleach or stain removal, but rather something preventative. Thanks.
