Have you read Shantaram?

I am curious to see how many people have read this book and what you thought of it. Its by Gregory David Roberts. It is my favorite book by far, and I convinced my father to read it, but he didnt enjoy it due to ” the lack of editing” and “too much detail”. If youve read it please tell me your thoughts on it, and if you havent I definitely think its worth considering.
