What do you do when outfits are fit tightly at the sleeves and are huge everywhere else? If you workout and/or have batwing arms how do you find clothes that fit?

Hi…this is a fashion/exercise/diet question….

I do Pilates every day and have for almost three years (except Sundays)...and live in the UK where clothes are cut narrow in the sleeves anyway…and a Size 12 UK is a size 8 US (just to give you Americans an idea.)

It’s getting harder for me to find a coat or blouse that fits. I have “batwings” or “bingo wings” meaning that I have loose skin on my arms that no amount of exercise will get rid of——however, I still was fitting into UK Size 10–12 before I started exercising. Now, I find that the clothes I buy fit huge everywhere, but in the sleeves they are tight! In other words, I buy a Size 12 UK (8 US) and it is big everywhere and tight in the sleeves. So, I buy a Size 14 UK (10 US) and still tight in the sleeves and _huge_everywhere else. (Three years ago, I lost a huge amount of weight which I have maintained…and I am petite.)

Does exercising increase your bicep size and if so, does that mean your clothes don’t fit as well? Have any of you experienced this problem? What did you do? I flex my arms and see a bit of muscle, but not where it is gigantic or anything….but it may be enough to change the shape of my arm.

I just ordered this lovely, lovely coat….in a size bigger than I usually wear….huge all over….tight in the sleeves. I was so disappointed.

Any solutions? Ideas? Those of you that workout…how do you cope with this? Or is it just me….and my Popeye arms?
