Is it strange to have a soda at a bar, just because you feel like being around people but don't feel like drinking?

Question really states the issue… Not that I think anyone would really ask what you’re drinking, but would you find it strange if you did see that someone was drinking soda?

I just moved to a new city and would enjoy some new friends, but I can’t spend another night drinking…
