What are some good neighborhoods to live at in San Francisco?

I could be moving to San Francisco soon. What neighborhoods should I be looking at? I don’t need anything too fancy, but I’d like something that isn’t in a bad part of town. I also don’t want anything too expensive (in relative terms of course).
