Keurig Coffee Makers - Experience? Cost?

My wife wants a Keurig single cup coffee and tea maker.
My concern is the single cup issue – does it make a quality cup of coffee?
Moreover, the cost seems to be around 55 cents per cup and off the top of my head that is fairly expensive compared to using ground coffee and the coffee maker that we have.

My wife says that we waste half the carafe because we have to brew six cups minimum and we do not drink that much coffee in a given morning.

Is this worth the money and am I right about the costs?\
