How do you save and send or send a document you created on microsoft works?

I’m sending it to myself for a test, cause I don’t want the person who’s getting it to know I’m a computer retard, but I can’t get it to open , it says the file might be corrupted and then my explorer shuts down. And I’ve tried to copy and paste it and that won’t work either. Any ideas?
