What do you do about nose and ear hair?

Seriously. It’s getting worse as I get older, and my father’s ears – ewww. I have discovered I can actually shave the main source areas of my current ear hair, but nose hair I have to either pluck at a cost of time and pain, or trim with scissors which is not terribly effective. I usually do some combination of both. I’ve tried one of those rotary nose hair trimmers, but it didn’t do squat. So do you trim your ear and nose hair somehow? Is your method effective? Or do you just let it go until you can braid it?
