I bought a graphics tablet for my computer, and ever since I got it the computer doesn't work?

I have a 2–3 year old MacBook, connected to a monitor, external hard drive, printer, and audio headset. I bought and installed a Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet about a week ago, and ever since it’s been having a few little glitches, followed by things that are really inconvenient. I restarted the computer over and over again. It wouldn’t help, so I tried unplugging the graphics tablet. The glitches are gone, but I was really enjoying my tablet. Any mac experts here?
