What's the best treatment for a scar.

The Friday before Christmas I managed to put a major gash in my forehead requiring 10 stitches. I tell everyone that I got in a bar fight with Voldemort, but the truth is I tripped over a trailer hitch and became ‘one’ with the concrete.

So now I have this nifty scar. Unfortunately it’s not quite lightning-bolt shaped. It’s more of a > sign… or < sign from my point of view. Or as SmashMouth says “In the shape of an ‘L’ on [his] forehead”.

So my dermatologist says the redness will go down on its own, and the best thing to do is put suncreen on it so it won’t darken. My question is: What’s your remedy for scars (with or without sunscreen)?
