How do you feel about pedestrians texting and talking on cell phones?

Today, for the third time this week, I watched in bewilderment as a guy with a cell phone pressed to his ear crossed a busy parking lot, obviously unaware of where he was and how many cars were missing whizzing around him. I see the same thing all the time with pedestrians crossing busy streets, and if it’s not my imagination, it’s getting worse and worse. Is this just me or are cell phones corroding that part of our brains called “common sense”?
