What is place of artist or drawing and painting in today's digital world?

Since computers are, now a days, commonly used everywhere; we can take print outs, photos, etc. very quickly than drawing and painting. So, what do you think is place of drawing and painting in today’s world?

I wonder, how do artists earn now? Or do they have to do something in computers (photoshop, illustrator, ..., web design, animation)?

I like drawing and painting personally, so I think it will survive as hobby at least. And, according to my knowledge (life) drawing is required in animation; and it’s easy sometimes to draw by hand than draw it on a computer using mouse (though stylus pens are there).

How do you perceive drawing/painting/artist in future? Will they survive?
