Would his behavior indicate that he is interested in more than friendship?

I’m really good mates with a guy who’s in some of my classes. We’re constantly play fighting and messing around, but I don’t know what to make of it. When I told him about another guy I liked because I wanted his advice, he said I deserved a nice guy. I wasn’t sure so said theres nothing about me that makes me more deserving than anyone else, to which he replied oh yes there is! He knows I used to like him but since then i’ve told him that i’m over him and thought he should know. His reply was “cool cool :D good stuff”, and since then he’s been flirting a lot more than usual and talking to me more and smiling when he catches my eye. What should I make of this?
