How do I shop for a bankruptcy lawyer?

My SO and I had a loong discussion this evening and we decided that bankruptcy seems like the best option for us. I’ve never done anything like this, and the only lawyer I’ve ever spoken to is my brother-in-law. He’s retired and lives in another state.

How do I go about finding an attorney? Where can I get referrals or references? What questions do I ask?
