Image transfers, what fabric to use?

I’m doing this art workshop and for the exhibition we are suppose to print & transfer an image on a white t-shirt. The teacher said that the fabric should be cotton but not polyester because it can burn.
The problem is I can’t find a white 100% cotton t-shirt, I can only find 90% cotton & 10%nylon.
Now the technique to transfer the image is that we print(computer printer) an image on the transfer paper and then we iron the image on the shirt.
My question is would the 90%cotton & 10%nylon do? Or do I really need to buy a 100% cotton shirt.
