Aeroplanes and nuclear power stations in 1900 AD when playing Sim City for the SNES?

Asked by Anonymoususer (455points) February 5th, 2010

When playing Sim City for the SNES, you begun in 1900 AD, and can build an airport and a nuclear power station. In real life, the first aeroplane took off in 1903 AD (and it was not those passenger aerplanes we have today) and nuclear power begun in the 1940’s.

Why is the game using these misstakes, while other Sim City games don’t allow such inventions as later? (in some games you can chose to begin in 1950 AD, 2000 AD or 2050 AD).

Another misstake? The scenario of Río de Janeiro, Brazil has winter and snow December-February.
