I was browsing for political sites and came upon this one, and was wondering is this for the "kooky" or is it legitimate?

I was bored and was just looking up political “stuff” and I came upon this website infowars.com. I was reading some of the articles and some of it sounds kind of scary if some of this stuff is happening. I’m wondering if this site is legit or is it mainly for paranoid people? Will the govt track my IP if I visit this site? Seems like this guy is selling a whole bunch of “stuff” could this actually be his agenda? Should I read on or steer clear? Thanks!
