I made the mistake of picking away at a bug bite. What im asking is after I clean it is it better to let it "breath" or bandage?

I know that I should applie neosporin, but I don’t know weather to put a band-aid over it, because people have different opinions all over the net.

It’s on my face, is about the size of a penny and Is all red and yellow
