How much of the pie do you cover with tin foil if using a lattice edged crust?

I’m making a pie and trying out a lattice crust for the first time to make it pretty. I’ve always just covered the edges of the pie with tin foil while baking a pie with a regular top crust – is this okay to do with a lattice crust too, or do I need to cover most of it?
